The Chairman of the Trust Mr. C D Mittal in the august presence of Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, Vice Chancellor Aligarh Muslim University awarded 74 Chiragdeep Scholarships for Professional & Degree Courses at a function held on 28th November 2016 at the New Auditorium at Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology – AMU, Aligarh. The Trust has so far awarded 240 Scholarships at AMU since AY 2014-15 and have disbursed Rs.41 Lakh approx.
The Chiragdeep Scholarships ranging between Rs.1500 – Rs.2000 per month are awarded and paid to the Girls students from weaker section of society for the entire duration of their courses.
Additionally on 27th & 28th November 2016 similar award functions were held at Chiranjilal Girls Inter College & Tikaram Girls Inter College awarding 50 & 150 new Vidyadeep Scholarships respectively. The Vidyadeep Scholarships are awarded to Girls students pursuing Higher Secondary Courses with a monitory support of Rs.500/- per month for the entire duration of course.
Our Scholarship Programme aimed to encourage underprivileged girls to pursue their Higher Secondary Education. The girls who do well in the 12th have potential for Higher studies. We nurture these talents by offering scholarships to them which chart out their further education and shape up their carrier.
SUMMT is also associated with other reputed NGO’s who are in the domain of educating, empowering women, rehabilitation of homeless senior citizens and mentally retarded persons. Moreover time to time we participate in the campaign of other NGO’s to serve humanity and also organize camps to provide nutritious food to the poor people.
SUMMT's cause is adequately supported by self financed funds from the Founder, Mr C D Mittal. We invite each and every one to share their valuable ideas and suggestions to eradicate inequality, be it in gender or in education or in socioeconomic status."
The inspiration behind SUMMT'S existence came from Late Smt. Urmila Mittal's comprehension about importance of good education.
